Artificial Intelligence Journal Division of IJCAI
IJCAI acts as the official host for the editorial operations of
the Artificial Intelligence journal, through its Artificial Intelligence Journal Division.
The journal is run by the Steering Committee whose members are the two
editors-in-chief, two IJCAI nominees, and a member nominated by the
Editorial Board. The IJCAI Secretary-Treasurer also acts as
Secretary-Treasurer to this committee.The current SC is composed of: Anthony G. Cohn, University of Leeds (United Kingdom)
Rina Dechter, UCI (USA) Hiroaki Kitano, Sony CS Labs and SBI (Japan) Gerhard Lakemeyer, Aachen University (Germany), and Toby Walsh, National ICT Australia (Australia).
Funding Opportunities for Promoting AI Research
Artificial Intelligence Journal (AIJ) is one of the longest established and
most respected journals in AI, and since it was founded in 1970, it has
published many of the key papers in the field. The operation of the
Editorial Board is supported financially through an arrangement with AIJ's
publisher, Elsevier. The editorial board of Artificial Intelligence is now
in the unique position of being able to make available substantial funds, of
the order of EUR 175,000 per annum to support the promotion and dissemination
of AI research.

AI Journal Classic and Prominent Paper Awards
The AI Journal is pleased to announce two new awards for papers published in the journal:
- The AIJ Prominent Paper Award recognizes outstanding papers published during the last five years in the AI Journal that are exceptional in their significance and impact.
- The AIJ Classic Paper Award recognises outstanding papers published at least 15 years ago in the AI Journal that are exceptional in their significance and impact.
The deadline for nominations for the first Prominent Paper award is 30 June 2012. The deadline for nominations for the Classic Paper award will be announced later.
Full details of the criteria for the Prominent Paper Award can be found at here along with details of how to nominate a paper for the award. Nominations can come from anyone.

To maximise the readership of the AI Journal, through an arrangement with Elsevier, Associates of IJCAI may obtain personal electronic access to the online contents of this international publication. This arrangement is intended for members of the international scientific AI community who do not otherwise have access to the AI Journal. It is financed through the Editorial Board funds of the journal.
